Our Staff

3 DOGS is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, by people who know and love dogs. Our staff is certified in Pet First Aid and CPR.

Anne Graves

Anne Graves has held a life-long love for animals of all sizes, and though she’s worked predominantly in the customer service field, she’s always harbored a desire to work with animals in some capacity. So in 2001, she took a job as a veterinary assistant, and shortly thereafter moved on to technician. Anne spent nearly four years working with dogs, cats, birds and other exotic pets, in a small animal clinic.

While attending school for her degree in science, Anne took a position as a summer intern at the Oregon Zoo. She then decided to take a summer and go to South Africa to do volunteer wildlife research.

The experience, though amazing, brought her to an understanding of what she really wanted to do, get back to working with small animals. It wasn't long after, that Mike and Anne met and began creating 3 Dogs Boarding and Daycare.
Michael Lauria

Michael Lauria

Michael Lauria has trained dogs professionally, and managed traditional and cage-free kennels for over 12 years now. Mike started his career working with dogs in 1995, at the Paragon Dog Training Academy in Northboro, Massachusetts.

There he trained dogs for obedience and personal protection, as well as addressing a variety of behavior problems.  Mike then moved on to Pet Companions Inc. in Boston, MA; one of the nations very first cage-free boarding and daycare facilities. There he eventually became manager, as well as instructing obedience classes.  While in Boston, Mike worked with the North EastAll Retriever Rescue organization, evaluating shelter dogs for their adoption program.

FinneganMike adopted his own golden retriever, Finnegan, during this time.  In 2001 Mike and Finnegan moved to Santa Rosa, California.

Mike took a job as manager of Countryside Kennel and Rescue, where he continued working with rescue dogs, as well as teaching obedience classes and working with dogs with aggression issues. While in California, Mike worked along- side Countryside Rescue and The Marin Humane Society, training and placing dogs left homeless by hurricane Katrina. Together, Mike and Finnegan also participated in canine assisted therapy through PAWS FOR HEALING, in Napa.

SunnyIn 2003, Mike and Finnegan picked up a new family member; Sunny, a year old golden doodle. The three of them moved to Portland early in 2007, where Mike and Anne met, and soon after began working toward establishing their own dog boarding and daycare business.
