Application and Policies

 

At 3 DOGS we strive to provide your pet a fun, comfortable and SAFE environment. To ensure that all of our guests are well taken care of, we ask that you read and agree to the policies listed below: 

3 DOGS BOARDING AND DAYCARE is a CAGE-FREE facility, and therefore it will not be suitable for all dogs. All dogs must be social and must pass a scheduled temperament assessment. Temperament assessments and tours are by appointment only; please have current vaccination records on hand for your dog's evaluation.

All dogs must display health and temperament characteristics that are conducive to a fun, safe daycare/boarding environment.  We reserve the right to refuse initial service or terminate service at anytime without prior notice and at our sole discretion.

All dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations.  Owners must submit written proof that dogs have received the required vaccinations within the specified time period recommended by a veterinarian.  All dogs must be spayed or neutered at 6 months of age.

Even though all dogs attending our daycare/boarding must receive their Bordatella vaccination every year, there is still a possibility they might contract a different strain of kennel cough.

Sometimes during play a dog's teeth will get tangled up in another dog’s collar. All collars must be snap/quick release. Buckle collars, choke chains and prong collars are not permitted.

Some things you should know when leaving your dog at 3 DOGS:

 

3DOGS is a social facility, where dogs are grouped together in playgroups.

The playgroups consist of temperament-tested dogs, and are supervised and monitored at all times. Dogs may be given a timeout if they get too rowdy or just need to rest.

By attending our facility you are agreeing to have your dog socialized while they are here.

Sometimes the play gets rough. The big dogs love to run and wrestle while they're here, and Just like human children on a playground, they can get scratches and bumps.

Please expect to see these types of things on occasion. Our staff will make you aware of any aggressive behavior; otherwise do not be alarmed by occasional scratches or marks.

We also see sore or ripped pads on occasion. We're always watching for dogs that seem like their pads are getting tender from being outside, but unfortunately we cannot always catch torn paw pads before they happen. You are welcome to bring booties for your dog to wear if your dog is prone to this issue. We will make a note if this has been an issue in the past and give extra rest times if needed. Ripped paw pads are similar to ripping a callus on your hand. It is very sensitive the first couple of days but heal over just fine.

Kennel cough is a very common problem anywhere that groups of dogs co-mingle. While all of the dogs at 3 DOGS are vaccinated against bordetella and parainfluenza, the two most common causes of kennel cough, there are numerous viruses that can cause the cough, and no vaccination will prevent all cases.

Generally, Kennel cough is a self limiting sickness, and most dogs will completely recover within 2 weeks or so. Please keep in mind that without proof of vaccinations, your dog will not be permitted into our facility under any circumstances.
